Neutral Territory

01 — Landmarks

The Headlights

  • No cat really understands why the lake glows alight like it does, but when the moon reaches its peak location, its rays cause the frozen lake’s surface to shimmer just like the night sky. There are many smaller crystals laying around, though Starclan’s true power is located within the very center, where the moonlight shines brightest. A cat can commune with their ancestors by touching their nose to the surface. Starclan's Claws patrol this territory.

The Deadlands

  • A small patch of land that is chronically dead, with all wildlife finding it impossible to thrive here. At its centre stands a tall, singed tree, rumored to be caused by a lightning strike, though the tales vary. Due to its mysterious aura (and harsh nature), many cats avoid this land, saying it’s cursed.

Catcher’s Ruins

  • Old and decrepit ruins left by the Catchers. Not much is known about the Catchers other than old stories of the City and rare sightings of them in the fields. The clans warn every cat to stay away from this area, as the Catchers are evil and will take you away from the forest if you get too close to them.

Wanderer’s Edgelands

  • A wide range of cliffs that edge around the wider expanse of water between the rivers. This section itself is usually avoided due to the Catchers frequenting here with long sticks and hooks, catching anything they can find within the water. Despite this, it’s especially favorable for collecting Catcher trinkets to wear as accessories, though not many are brave enough to venture here.

Whispering Rapids

  • A large and very powerful waterfall that leads into the river separating the territories. A common place for courting cats to meet up in; the noise of the waterfall holds many secrets… and many star-crossed relationships.

The Wailing Path

  • A long and (in some cat’s views), seemingly neverendless path surrounded by miles of tall grass and shrubbery. While the path has been cultivated by the steps of a dozen wanderers cutting through the terrain throughout the years, it has earned its name for its eerie atmosphere and the rumors that have been spread by clan cats and non-clan cats alike. Many claim that they can hear the wailing of unknown creatures the further down they come into this path, meaning that perhaps… There’s a mystery to be discovered.

Pit of Sorrow

  • Once a large lake within the lands, the Pit of Sorrow is now a deep, dried out hole that seems to have been reclaimed by the earth with a variety of plants and ground burrowing wildlife. No one seems very certain about the reason that the lake dried out, but rumor has it that there was some sort of famine before anyone resided within this area… Whatever the reason, the Pit of Sorrow has a similar feeling to the Wailing Path, although it holds less superstition behind it.

The Plains

  • True to their name, the plains is a giant expanse of hills and fields that don’t seem to hold much more to them… While there’s mostly nothing particularly interesting about the area aside from the occasional boulder and shrubbery, it is known to sport a decent variety of herbs that can prove to be useful to those in need of them. If searching the area for plants, however, cats are advised to use extra caution for the fact that The Plains are a wide and open expanse that invites predators to attack.

The Glade Map

Leafclan Territory

01 — Overview
  • Rather than using the traditional den set up, LeafClan uses the trees in their camp as dens and holders for nests.

    • Caretakers and Elders are closer to the ground than novices and ranks such tree dwellers, using hollow tree trunks as their dens. The tree trunks tend to be burrowed into the ground, or are only a foot or two up off of the ground to avoid harm coming to caretakers, kits and elders from falling/jumping.

      • Due to caretakers, kits and elders being in a more vulnerable position to ambush or invasion, Sentinels are in charge of guarding the dens, and if they so choose, can have their own dens near the Nursery/Elder's Den.

  • LeafClan’s territory as a whole is a large and well guarded forest, with dense bushes and greenery alongside large, tall trees that provide protection from certain predators and shade from certain elements of weather (sun, rain and snow). Think something like a temperate forest — lots of greenery, shade and trees.

02 — Landmarks

Mossy Creek

  • A small creek connected to the river going throughout the territories, this particular body of water boasts a large array of rocks both within its waters and outside of its waters, hence the name. Because it’s small and the current isn’t very strong, it’s a particularly favored spot for relaxation and catching very small fish or animals, like frogs.

Glowing Grotto

  • An area not far from the Whispering Rapids, the Glowing Grotto is a large, but not very deep, cave that resides near the water. While most caves are damp and dark, the Glowing Grotto has a series of crystals and mushrooms that have grown within the cave. In addition to this, the cave seems to be a good attractor for fireflies, who assist in lighting up the area within the night, making a pretty sight.

Cougar’s Conquest

  • There are many rumors of a ferocious cougar living in the area – though nobody has witnessed this beast up close, there have been multiple sightings of a skulking figure in the distance as well as a mighty growling when cats get too close. If there is any cat brave enough to explore this lair remains to be seen…

The Singing Field

  • A particularly large field with various dirt trails leading through the area to avoid stepping on the numerous flowers and plants littered within. In the distance, Crystal Mountain can be seen. This specific part of the territory is often used for hunting small/burrowing animals, and training novices.

Sweep of Shade

  • A small forest split a little ways away from Leafclan’s camp. While it looks generally similar to the forest that Leafclan resides within, rather than being stock full of western hemlock and douglas fir, the sweep of shade consists of large, looming pine and cedar trees. Similarly to The Singing Field, this area is used for hunting a more wide variety of animals and training.

Sunny Grove

  • A gathering of rocks near The Singing Field. The rocks themselves are often used for sunning in warmer months, although they provide some shelter for small prey like mice and garter snakes, meaning that the area can also be used as an impromptu hunting spot. Aside from this, it’s typically used as a spot for relaxation.

The Giant’s Throne

  • What remains of a colossal tree; named the Giant’s Throne due to the way its roots mimic a Catcher’s sitting place. Gatherings between the clans are held here at every full moon, with the leaders sitting amongst the highest place on the trunk and their clanmates scattered amongst the roots and floor.

Soaringclan Territory

01 — Overview
soaringclan.png
  • Soaringclan’s general territory is within Crystal Mountain, with rocky and harsh terrain that cats from outside of the clan aren’t well adjusted to trek. The mountains provide sparse trees and clear terrain, mostly containing rocky ground and uncleared paths. Unknown to most outsiders, however, is Soaringclan’s additional method of transportation throughout their territory in the forms of their tunnels and caving systems.

    • Soaringclan’s camp is a large cave disconnected from most cave systems, except for the system that includes the Eyes of Starclan, which can be entered through the Herbalist’s Den. There are large bump-outs and ledges that are often used by cats of Soaringclan to place their nests either on top of, or underneath. The Elders Den and Nursery have specially dug out tunnels underneath two ledges toward the back of the camp for ease of access to the young and elderly.

02 — Landmarks

Mushroom Pond

  • A small pond near the Herbalist’s dwelling that, implied by its name, grows a large amount of mushrooms of varying sizes and colors. While their side effects vary, it’s not uncommon for a cat to come in for a visit with one of the Herbalist’s after becoming curious of the shroom’s effects.

The Eyes of Starclan

  • A landmark within a cave a little ways away from camp. Novices are often taught to navigate their way out of this specific cave by looking upwards for any sign of light. The cave system has a large amount of holes and crystals within it that often reflect sun and moonlight, but the Eyes of Starclan is the largest hole within the cave’s ceiling

    • It’s rumored that whichever direction the light from this specific hole shines down from is the way out of the cave; as though being guided out by cats of Starclan.

Serpent’s Overpass

  • A natural land bridge that leads between Crystal Mountain and the grounds beyond it – Soaringclan use it commonly when they must travel to the Giant’s Throne or the Headlights. The ‘serpent’ in its name is derived from the rattlesnakes that vacate the premises through Newleaf to Leaf-fall.

Fennelsong’s Tomb

  • Teetering into the dangerous lands outside of Soaringclan’s territory, Fennelsong’s Tomb is an area full of cliffs and heights that often see falling rocks and mudslides. This landmark has earned its unfortunate name due to a young warrior named Fennelsong losing their life from one of these natural disasters in the area. … But just because Fennelsong’s body is buried deep underneath the rubble that took them from this world, doesn’t mean that their spirit lies with Starclan. Many cats that wander into this area often return home with their tails tucked between their legs, claiming to have seen and heard a stranger warning them to stay away.

The Lovers’ Meeting

  • A small creek that leads down Crystal Mountain and connects to the river within the neutral territory and Leafclan’s territory, its connection to the winding river leading to its name. The Lovers’ Meeting in specific is rumored to be a place of connection and peace. Prey seem to frequent this area regularly, and some cats may believe that the creek is a sign of good luck for one reason or another.

Wolfbane Cave

  • A small cave separate and far off from Soaringclan’s main cave + tunnel system. While it does hold some animals that dare to call it home within its walls alongside plants and fungi, it’s typically avoided due to the poisonous fauna and flora surrounding its interior and exterior… Such as the large bloom of Wolf’s Bane, its namesake.

Blooming Crescent

  • There are many cliffs amongst Soaringclan’s territory, though this one is particularly special. A crescent-shaped arch looks out towards the Mushroom Pond, lighting up a pathway towards it. When the wind blows just right, flower petals stream across the open sky – many deem this place as the perfect location to make things official.
